Searching for Sonic Empathy: An Experimental Sound Meditation

A participatory, experimental sound meditation exploring the concept of sonic empathy. Immersed in a live ambient set, participants were guided through a series of written reflections on their own listening practices. Cards with prompts inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ Sonic Meditations (1974), were provided to help participants explore their relationship to sound. Over the course of the evening, reflections were hung on display in the windows, culminating in a community discussion.
